Emilia Sumelius-Buescher was born in Finland. She is a graduate of The Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theater. Emilia has been a member of the Dell’Arte Company on and off for 12 years. She has toured with the company nationally as well as internationally. She has performed with the National Theater of Northern Greece, Oktana Dance in Thessaloniki and TanzTeater Heidelberg of Germany. Emilia has worked for Clowns Without Borders in Tibetan and Bhutanese refugee camps in Nepal. The papier mache masks Emilia has made have won awards on the west coast and have been seen on the stages of Santa Rosa Jr. College, Dell’Arte, Trinity Repertory Theater/Brown and The Yale School of Drama. Emilia is a founding member of Workhorse Theatre and has recently started her own cottage industry called Punch and Beauty. She makes Local, Wildcrafted Elderberry Syrup, Recycled Cashmere Clothing and Needle-Felted Dolls among many other things. (Check out www.punchandbeauty.com very soon.)
